Atlanta Fish Market

Atlanta

10 / 10

Boasting an elegance and distinction this market, the setting is upscale, but not unapproachable. It is set in an adventure inspired by  a 1920s train station with a soaring ceiling, plush leather booths, distinct pine tables, and even an enclosed porch that gives a beach vibe. With its vast array of fish and shellfish (100 varieties), the selection is broad and flown in daily (fresh from both the east and west coasts. Each dish is perfectly seasoned, It definitely took me back to living in Santiago, Chile where the fish were caught same day and the flavor was unlike any I ever had before. Take fresh caught fish home to cultivate your own amazing dishes or dine in for an experience you'll want to relive over and over. There are non seafood dishes as well and plenty of sides. Portion sizes are generous, but expect premium pricing.

Industry Tavern

Buckhead Atlanta

10 / 10

Industry Tavern cements itself as a lively destination where the warmth of a neighborhood hangout meshes with the flair of modern tavern fare. The exposed ductwork, soft lighting, steel accents transport you into a modern day tavern. Game days are exciting with this popular meetup spot. The restaurant flows into an outdoor patio area separated by garage style glass doors that create a flow of indoor and outdoor space. The burgers are amazing, I could barely finish half. The fries are evenly and seasoned to perfection. a mix of salt and special seasoning that tickles your senses with every bite. Taking the pizza apart can be a fun challenge as the mozzarella is fresh and stretches as the pieces are pulled apart, it was delicious! the staff was very friendly and the price point is mid range. You get large portions, but take note there is no kids menu.

Azul Taqueria

Peachtree City

8 / 10

A vibrant slice of Mexico. The energy hits you first -- warm lighting, bold pops of color across the walls, and the inviting hum of conversation and music that fills the space. The menu is a feast, where you get larger portions. The food has pretty good flavor, I would add that this was one of the more authentic tasting menus, and the quality was at 8/10. One thing I look for in determining the quality of the food is in the rice and how it is cooked. The rice was cooked through, seasoned well, and soft. To me that is a very good sign that they take time to cook and prepare your meals. I was disappointed I couldn't keep the cup, even asked if I could buy it and they turned me down. The service was slow and it took us a while to get our food. After we finished our meal, it took even longer to get the check. Overall, this is not a bad place to eat, it's a hit or miss on the service, and the pricing was mid range.

Brown Dog Eatery

Carrollton

10/10

Located in the heart of downtown, it is one of those places that manages to feel both comfortably familiar and full of surprises. Rustic charm meets culinary creativity. Southern hospitality meets bold. The perfect setting to sit down and stay awhile. The staff was very friendly and helpful and even when they messed up my order, they were quick to fix it. Food was delicious, I loved the fried green tomato appetizer, I wish I ordered more than one, even now it makes my mouth water. The kids portions are perfect and the pricing is reasonable. all the flavors complement each other and it's just all around good southern cooking from kitchen to table you feel like you are eating in a southern kitchen. There is an outdoor patio, which is perfect for people watching, soak in the square, and enjoy the fresh air.

Cantina Taqueria

Fayetteville

2/10

Bright, lively, and casual enough for weekday tacos, yet polished enough for date nights or catching up with friends, this restaurant initially gives the impression of being a versatile and enjoyable spot. The patio provides a breezy outdoor dining option, adding to its appeal. Unfortunately, the overall experience fell far short of expectations.

The staff was unfriendly, the portion sizes did not justify the pricing, expect to pay a premium (as reflected in the photos). The restaurant was also not kid-friendly. From the beginning, it was clear they were hesitant to seat our family of six, despite our arrival before the dinner rush. We were placed at an outdoor corner table cluttered with extra flowers and décor that staff had to clear before we could even sit down.

Service was consistently inattentive. The waiter prioritized other tables, including guests who arrived after us. It took twenty minutes just to receive menus, at which point silverware was finally brought. We experienced long waits at every stage—taking the order, receiving the food, and ultimately paying the bill. I began timing the staff on my watch and observed repeatedly that our table was ignored in favor of others. After finishing our meal, it took 55 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us again. At that point, I finally called the waiter over myself in order to pay and leave.

The food itself was also disappointing. Adult entrées were nearly identical in portion size to the children’s meals, yet both were highly overpriced. No refills were offered on drinks. Additionally, the dishes did not match the photos or descriptions on the menu—ingredients were skimmed on, quality felt diminished, and portion sizes were consistently small.

In short, while the atmosphere and décor suggest a welcoming spot for both casual and special occasions, the lack of hospitality, poor service, inflated pricing, and underwhelming food quality made the experience uncomfortable and unsatisfying.

Larry's Giant Subs

Fayetteville

2/10

Offers fresh bread, quality ingredients and a wide variety of sandwiches. The staff was friendly, though when I asked which subs were the most popular, they joked that they all were. The layout can be confusing and the wait area is cramped, with the four people that were waiting to order, it felt full. The portions do not live up to the "Giant" name. the sandwiches were rather small, not even standard size compared to Jersey Mikes or Jimmy Johns. Expect to pay more for a sandwich with little ingredients on a small hoagie. Again the photos on the website menu are deceiving.

Sabor A Mexico

Fayetteville

7/10

This restaurant had the cutest decor.  I was pleasantly surprised at the excellent customer service. Prices were fair for the portion size, I ordered la Molcajete Sabor a Mexico, it was enough food to feed two people. The restaurant has a casual, laid back, family-friendly feel. Consistency can be a hit or miss depending on the day. I ordered four kids meals and they prepared four adult meals. Ordering was a little chaotic, but the food was great. Overall, solid flavors and good value, but I'd like to see more attention to consistency and cleanliness so the experience measures the quality of the food.

That Burger Spot

Fayetteville

10/10

Want quality and comfort? These hamburgers are seriously my go-to comfort food, when I want something with excellent flavor, and lots of food. They have plenty of build your own options and fries come out hot and crispy. You get what you pay for and the prices are about mid range. Overall I frequent this spot often, haven't had a burger I didn't like.  You do spend some time waiting for your meal, it is cooked to order, so everything comes out hot and ready to enjoy!

Sensu

Fayetteville

9/10

Incredible sushi and sashimi at a great price. The restaurant is small, but has outdoor and indoor seating. It feels like there would be a wait during busy times, Sensu is very popular. The vibe is phenomenal. I took off a star for wait times, I feel the waitress forgot us the majority of the time. The food was incredible and sashimi was perfect and melted in your mouth. the presentation was perfection and looked almost too good to eat. it was an experience of seafood that encompasses a more traditional Japanese aura. The restaurant has a in house sushi and sashimi chef that prepares the dishes in front of you. There are no refills on drinks.
